About this role

You will set technical direction for Sequester's platform???choosing patterns for services, data flows, and boundaries that scale teams as well as traffic.

What you will do

• Author architecture decision records (ADRs) for major platform and data-plane changes
• Define service boundaries, API contracts, and event schemas across product domains
• Review designs from engineering squads for scalability, operability, and security fit
• Prototype risky architectural bets in spikes before committing org-wide
• Align roadmap with SRE on reliability investments and technical debt paydown

What we are looking for

• Senior platform or staff-level engineering experience in SaaS backends
• Track record shipping large refactors without stopping product velocity
• Excellent written communication for async, remote-first teams
• Security literacy for systems handling encrypted user content metadata
