About this role

You will treat Sequester's reliability as a product??? defining SLOs, killing flaky alerts, and ensuring encrypted backup and sync paths stay dependable at scale.

What you will do

• Define and monitor SLOs/SLIs for critical user journeys (login, upload, backup, restore)
• Lead blameless postmortems and drive action items that prevent repeat outages
• Improve on-call rotations, runbooks, and automated remediation where safe
• Capacity-test services before major launches and seasonal traffic spikes
• Partner with Software Engineering on graceful degradation and feature flags

What we are looking for

• SRE or production engineering experience with on-call ownership
• Strong metrics mindset (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar)
• Coding ability to fix production issues???not just escalate them
• Calm judgment during incidents affecting paying users
