About this role

You will protect Sequester's ability to recover???designing backup strategies, testing restores, and proving we can bring encrypted user data back after failures.

What you will do

• Design backup policies for databases, object storage, and configuration state with defined RPO/RTO
• Automate restore tests on a schedule and document success/failure with evidence
• Maintain DR runbooks for region loss, ransomware scenarios, and operator error
• Coordinate with Security on immutable backups and encryption key recovery procedures
• Audit backup coverage gaps when new services launch

What we are looking for

• DR/backup engineering experience in cloud and hybrid environments
• Hands-on restore experience???not just backup configuration on paper
• Understanding of encryption key dependencies in restore workflows
• Methodical testing mindset and clear executive summaries of DR readiness
